Good for mincing garlic Jul 11, 2010 The Alligator Mini Cutter minces peeled garlic well, uniformly and quickly - but be sure to turn it grid-side down over a dish or cutting board or pieces will tend to fly about. Though the box suggested that it would mince radishes, it didn't do well and it was hard to clean up with pieces stuck in the grid. (I had to spend a lot of time with toothpicks to get it all cleaned of radish.) I haven't tried to mince other things yet, but I suspect it would not have trouble with pitted olives or pickle chunks (pickles would have to be cut to fit within the grid). I'll have to try that out. In the mean time, I am happier with the Alligator than I have been with other garlic cutters, presses, slicers.

BEYOND EXPECTATIONS! Nov 27, 2009 What a terrific product! Wish I would have found it sooner. It's a great mini dicer for both garlic and onions. This little gadget saves me a lot of time and so easy to clean.
If you like fresh garlic than this is a must have. You won't be disappointed.

had to have it! Jul 14, 2009 I will never use a messy garlic press again! I get 100% of the garlic I put into the alligator and the clean up is amazing and so easy. What a brilliant idea!

SMALL BUT IMPORTANT RESERVATION Jun 21, 2009 I agree with all the kudos, with one reservation. The little plastic insert used to clean out the device after using the dicer has started to split and it will eventually break apart. That piece is very helpful in keeping the dicer clean so it looks as if I will need to order a whole new unit even though the part probably costs pennies to replace. I am not sure if I mishandled it or not! I will be interested to see if others encounter the same problem. Otherwise, it is great!

Indispensable kitchen gadget Apr 10, 2009 I've used one of these for a couple of years and find the tiny dice essential for garlic and other things as well. I have other garlic tools, but this is my favorite because it is easy to clean and the results are so consistent. None of the other dicers on the market have this fine a grid, so it's the best choice for things you want in really small pieces. I use mine for garlic frequently, but also for pickles or olives I'm adding to a salad, radishes that are especially tangy, herbs and sometimes small onions or shallots when I want the small dice.
The unit is small so the item placed on the grid has to be small, but the dice is beautiful and exactly right for tuna salad, for example, where you want small pieces of things. I still use the bigger sized unit for the celery I add to the tuna salad, and in fact often use both units for most preparations since the tiny pieces of garlic are ideal even if I want the bigger dice for other things.
I never put either of mine in the dishwasher because they are so easy to clean under the faucet and have ready for the next concoction. The little grid that fits down over the `teeth' is by far the easiest solution for removing any embedded pieces. I highly recommend this gadget for its ease of use and reliable results--the perfect fine dice.
