3plasma car  Jun 15, 2008
By Gina M. Roberts
I bought a plasma car for each of my boys, (ages 6 and 4). They enjoyed them for about an hour. I really thought they would be easier to propel than they are. If you are on any bit of incline it is almost impossible to make the car go without using your feet on the ground. It is fun to find a small hill and coast down, but coming back up is a pain. I have even tried to find really flat pavement and still you are at times practically not moving.

5Best Kid Powered Toy  Nov 14, 2009
By Eagle Vision
CONSTRUCTION

This is a unibody plastic construction. The wheels and steering wheel are also hard plastic. The foot rests and seat are contoured to prevent slipping. This ride is light enough for a child to pick up and put away. If you have more than one child, you really need one for each child plus an extra - for adults, like me. I am 190 lbs and I move rather easily on smooth surfaces.

OPERATION

The operator turns the steering wheel to propel the vehicle forward. Wider turns give more momentum for speed than smaller turns of the wheel. The wheels are smooth so the optimal surface is a floor made of linoleum or smooth concrete. A driveway or street impart a lot of friction and are not an optimal surface for mobility. Carpet has too much drag.

Since this has no form of self propulsion or engine, beyond kid power, it is quiet - with the exception of your child screaming with fun.

In the age of video games and excessive television for entertainment, this is a great outlet for getting kids to use their energy. Ideally, I would say this toy is suitable for kids ages 5 through 12.

CONCLUSION

This is a great toy that is fun, durable and not terribly expensive.

Two thumbs up!

5Unbeatable  Jan 03, 2007
By Jimbo
This toy is my favorite thing that we've bought for our two-year old. (He kind of likes it too!) He loves scooting around on it, altho he hasn't completely figured it out yet. He prefers it over his little tricycle, I think since it's closer to the ground and easier to control. Works great on hard indoor surfaces, but not so great on lumpy uneven concrete outdoors.

2I hope we end up liking this more  Jun 22, 2011

I am a bit sad. The kids were trying to ride this on a flat new side walk. It wasn't up hill or anything, but they didn't seem to be able to get it going very well. I hope we have better luck tomorrow.

3Ok - not great  Nov 03, 2010
By KJK
My sons saw this at a friend's house and loved using it. However, once we got it - they really haven't been interested at all! When they did ride it to the park, it was kind of difficult for them to continue to work. My children are 3 and 4 1/2 - I would say I wouldn't purchase again at full price. I would look for a used one.
