Big money for a poorly constructed item! Apr 24, 2011
By L. Brambach
"Isabella"
We purchased this bed after much research. We paid more than we anticipated because it held a twin mattress, but still felt like a petite sized bed and would not over consume the room. When we got it home and put it together we noticed hairline fractures on the side boards. Looking closely we noticed that this almost $900 bed was made out of MDF! It's cheaply manufactured! We put it together only to have the hairline fractures completely crack and split the wood. We went to return the bed and the store (not this store) sent us new side boards. The merchant explained that the hairline fractures were "just what this bed does" and it does mean it's defective. The bed hardly gets used in our home as our daughter still crawls into our bed with us. Thus, there really is no excuse to have the bed, 2 years after purchase, completely collapse one night. The MDF finally gave and the dowels that are supposed to hold the head board to the bed and provide a safe structure completely popped out as did the screws. The entire bed crashed to the floor and the head board fell on our child's head. You would think for the price we paid, we could get real wood and maybe some L brackets that would provide a secure structure. This bed is NOT worth the money! It's too bad because it looks beautiful and is a perfect fit for our daughter's room.
Great bed! Jul 13, 2011
By Holly Henderson We bought this as the first "big girl bed" for our toddler. She loves it. It has a beautiful finish and it's great to know it's eco-friendly as well. We love that it's versatile (boy or girl's room), durable and lovely to look at. We were so happy with it that we just purchased the matching nightstand as well. A great bed for a child's room!
Beautiful design, great eco-friendly materials Jun 25, 2011
By Sheryl We own the Sparrow bed (as well as the Sparrow nightstand and dresser and the mini-library) and love the beautiful design and eco-friendly materials. The construction is great and the design both attractive and functional.

A move to the "Big Boy" bed -- the Sparrow Twin bed Jun 30, 2011
By Timothy Shippey My son is one month away from turning 3, he's enjoyed his Sparrow crib and changing table as he's grown and we too as parents have also loved those items, especially how it matched our 50's modern home. Therefore, as we head to the next chapter of his growing years we thought that purchasing the Sparrow Twin bed was definitely our next purchase and our best transition to him becoming a "big boy." Upon receipt of the bed, I immediately opened the box knowing that my husband wasn't going to put it together for a few more days. I was too excited to getting his room complete and figured I had a few more hours until he came home from work and so I'd try to put it together. 1 ½ hours later I had a wonderful twin bed assembled and ready to show both him and my son. This bed arrived in 2 boxes (headboards and side panels), the directions were visually descriptive and I easily put it together with few tools and no sweat, yay! Upon my husband's arrival, he couldn't believe his eyes and of course loved the look of it in our son's room as well. That evening we introduced our son to his new bed, he was so excited and has slept there ever since. Thank you Oeuf for providing the "Sparrow" it is truly some exceptional modern furniture!
