4Good Bottles...Cute Too!  Apr 28, 2008
By OlliesMommy "Amber"
My son has been using Avent bottles since he was 3 months old (he's 7 months now). After reading everything about the BPA in bottles, I decided to look for a better option. I looked at a few and decided against glass (too heavy and ceramic floors) and for some reason I just didn't like the Born Free bottles. So I found the Green To Grow. They reminded me of the Avent (the wide neck models) so I bought 6 of them. Not to mention they have the cute little design on them! I did get them on sale so it was $60 with shipping. They don't have the leak problem that Avent sometimes has with the nipple ring, and the biggest downfall I've found is that it takes a little while for transition from the vented nipples with Avent to the Green To Grow. My son kept collapsing the nipple, so I'd see it starting to go and would have to break his suction on the bottle. Just something that takes some time to get used to. I did read that other nipples may work. So I may go and try that option.

5Nipples do collapse sometimes, but ...  May 13, 2008
By NRP "Nicole"
At least I can be comfortable knowing that BPA and phthalates aren't leaching into my son's formula! He switched over from Playetex Ventaires with no major problems, except that the nipples do tend to collape if he sucks too hard. I tried fixing this by using the intermediate nipples, but they seemed a little too fast for my baby, even at almost 7 months ... I am trying to get him used to the faster nipple though - hoping that it will help the nipple from collapsing. Even if it does continue to collapse, it's easy to fix, as another reviewer stated, by breaking the suction for a second until the nipple opens back up again.

Even though the nipples do collapse occasionally, I STILL think it's worth it to buy these bottles to know that my baby is drinking only formula, and not other harmful chemicals. Plus, these bottles are so darn cute, I love them! I would definitely recommend them!

5I loved these bottles!  May 08, 2008
By Danielle Hoff
My husband and I decided to buy these bottles after reading a lot about the negative effects of BPA, and we absolutely loved them. They are very pricey but its well worth it if you're concerned about BPA. We were a little worried when we read everything about the nipples collapsing and needing to buy the gerber nuk nipples, but it turns out that we didn't even have that problem. My daughter transitioned perfectly from Avent to green to grow. These bottles are wonderful, and very cute. Believe me, they will make you feel better just knowing you're keeping your baby safe.

2Cute bottles but very disappointed!  May 07, 2008
By D. bachelder "db411"
I bought these bottles of course because of the BPA issue but also because I really didn't like the bottles my son was using before. I did read another persons review on the regular 10 oz bottles about the nipple collapsing but figured it wouldn't be a big deal so I bought a few bottles anyways. I know it would take my son a few times to get used to them but the nipples keep collapsing and he is getting very frustrated. I transitioned him before from a regular Avent bottle to Playtex vent flow with no problems but can't seem to get right with these bottles.

I called Green to grow and they told me they have been getting people calling with this issue and told me to try using Gerbers NUK nipples, that they are compatible and fit their bottles. I was a bit unnerved at the fact I bought 3 bottles and 1 pack of replacement nipples which costed around $40, not a reasonable price but I am of course thinking of my son. Why pay this much for a bottle that doesn't serve it's purpose. Green to grows customer service was very nice about the whole situation but why are they urging costumers to buy another brand, they should just fix the problem or refund the costumers. This is where I get angry. I buy a pack of Gerbers NUK nipples, they will fit in the ring enough but when you screw the cap and nipple on you can pull the nipple straight through. IT DOES NOT FIT! I am going to call green to grow back and demand a refund. I am sure there are plenty of other BPA free bottles better than these. It's not worth the money. Besides looking cute they serve only as that. If you decide to buy these and have no problems, great! But for the rest of us that do it gets frustrating when you pay a pretty penny for something as simple as a bottle that shouldn't cause a problem!

3Pricey bottles,collapsing nipples !!!  Mar 25, 2009
By EH
For such a pricey bottle wouldn't you think that the maker of these bottles would have thought of also making a VENTED nipple with it???? Nipple collapses when baby suck too hard.So you have to interrupt baby's feeding to remove the air out and baby gets upset. Not recommended for gassy babies. Then they recommend the NUK nipples is compatible which is Vented! Overall it's a good bottle.
