1Bad design across the board!!!  Aug 23, 2010
By marlboromurders "marlboromurders"
My in-laws own this high chair and I loath using it every time we're over visiting. My in-laws purchased this high chair because it looks "nice" with the rest of their kitchen and dining room furniture, but honestly the chair is just poor design and materials. First of all the high chair is too cumbersome to carry over to the other rooms, the very bottom wooden slat gets in the way of your feet if you try and move the chair from behind or unbuckle the baby. I know the slat is their for support but keekaroo could have designed it better. The finish is terrible if your baby spills which I'm sure he or she will. The finish will start to peel, crack and peel apart with in a matter of a couple months and who wants a baby with splinters? The tray itself has no raised edges in front so if he/she spills liquids it will spill right onto the baby and onto the floor. The seat is not comfortable as it's just a flat board and no real back support. About the only good thing I have to say about the high chair is that it's easy to clean up. Of course you have to use wet naps or gentle solvents so the finish doesn't ruin, but it's bound to happen anyway.

My recommendation to you is the Ikea high chair, it's fantastic. Easy to clean up and water resistant because it's made of industrial strength plastic. The plastic tray is easy to wipe, snaps off/on easy, light weight, legs are very sturdy, will not tip over (my daughter is constantly trying to reach for things that are way out of reach) has inverted handles molded into the chair so you can pick up the high chair with the baby/toddler in it and move around easily. The tray has raised edges all around so if your baby spills liquids it will stay on the tray and will be easier to clean up. And most importantly it's a fraction of the cost of Kekaroo's, $19.99 can't be beat. The tray is separate and cost's $5.00 for a whopping total of $25.00 for the chair and tray, that's it.

5Great solid wood high chair  Dec 12, 2010
By Tammy
We've had this chair for about 3 months & are very pleased with our choice. I did tons of research before settling on the Keekaroo & have no regrets about my choice. First and foremost, the fact that it was a wood chair & not a plastic monstrosity in my kitchen is huge. It blends in well with the decor (although I'm a little disappointed that I didn't wait for the darker finish) & doesn't stick out like a huge sore thumb. It is fairly easy to clean & doesn't have too many nooks & crannies for messes to hide. I'm pleased with my decision to purchase the infant insert because even my 9-month old gets pretty squirmy & it keeps her firmly in her place at mealtime.

As others have mentioned, I wish there was a plastic cover to protect the tray, but I've heard that is coming & I'll definitely buy one when I see it. Although I have to say, our tray surface looks perfectly fine after 3+ months of use. Although our little one is still fed by us & isn't banging silverware or toys on the surface.

Compared to many of the others on the market, the price is great for the style of chair. I read one negative comment about not being able to release the tray with one hand. We found that we keep the tray inserted upside down so it doesn't lock in when we're not using it. That way when we're holding baby & wanting to put her in the chair, we can easily pull the tray out & put her in with one hand. Then we simply flip the tray right side up and lock it in place.

4Poor man's Tripp Trapp  Sep 14, 2010
By R. Zaretsky "verybecca"
I got this after doing a ton of research on wooden adjustable highchairs. We originally registered for the Tripp Trapp which is more expensive if you want a tray and infant seat - we saved about $150 by buying this one. I love the ease of putting it together and the cute design...it's a bit wide though, compared to the Tripp Trapp. The belt is difficult to adjust as well. These small issues aside, it's a great high chair. The wood is very good quality, it's sturdy, smooth and easy to clean. I do wish this came in other finishes/colors. I will definitely buy the toddler seat when our need arises for that.

5Great wooden High-chair!  Sep 06, 2010
By Rebecca
We've been using this wooden high-chair for a few months and love it. I wanted a wooden high chair that was non-toxic, easy to clean, looked nice, and would be usable with a tray and later at the table. We thought about getting the Stokke or Svan, but in the end decided this was the best. It didn't hurt that it was also about half the price of the others! We haven't been disappointed. Our now seven month sits great in it with the infant insert, the chair is very easy to clean, and it looks great. If your like me, one thing that might be holding you back is the lack of a plastic cover for the tray. Don't let this stop you. For one thing, we've been having her eat finger food directly off the wood, and it is really no problem to clean up. But also, I've talked with the people at Keekaroo and they are coming out with a plastic tray cover very soon. Apparently, it's in production now and will be available by November.
