Very Happy Grandma Jul 23, 2010 I tried this product as part of my healthier living program and it works great!! I don't have to set my dishwasher for an extra rinse like I did with my other soap. I am ordering a case now that I've had a chance to try it. I have grandkids at my house so I am making it safer for them and my family. I feel better washing baby bottles with this product. Hint: If you have tough stains and baked on food, just add a tablespoon of baking soda. I put Biokleen in the cup and leave it open. Then it cleans and I get an extra rinse by not having the cup open with more later on in the cycle.
There's now a white film on the dishes and the inside of the dishwasher Jun 26, 2010 I'm down to my last canister of the Biokleen and have to say I won't be buying it again. It gets the dishes clean, but they also have a white film on them. The stainless steel interior of my dishwasher also has a white film on in now....that was never there before I used the Biokleen. I'm here now buying a dishwasher cleaner and a different dishwasher detergent. I'll give it 2 stars for cleaning the dishes (if I don't include the white film). The 12 canisters have lasted me an entire year, so it goes a long way. I do like the canisters better than boxes too.....I use the canisters for other things when they're empty. They're great for storage of many different things. I just wish it didn't leave a white film behind.
50 - 50 chances it will work! May 29, 2010 We have tried our best to work with this product but have given up. As I mentioned in the title, it works sometimes (dishes have to be rinsed clean or it will not work, period) but almost half the times (no way to predict why) the powder just clumps up in the soap cup (we do not have hard water etc) and the whole dishwasher cycle is wasted. I do not think it is environmentally friendly if:
1. one has to waste a lot of water to clean the dishes before putting them in dishwasher
2. you have to run the dishwasher for the same load again (using Electrasol liquid/gel - which works great regardless!)
The company needs to do more research: "eco-friendly" is not only about the chemicals, or the lack thereof, in a product but also about the other resources (read carbon footprint) that are required to complete the job failed by this product!
Squeaky clean! May 19, 2010 I am so glad I bought this detergent! It works better than any other eco friendly soap I've tried. It also lasts forever. I am only on my second container and I placed my order 2 months ago I think.
Dishes are clean, but have a white film on them Mar 30, 2010 We love this product for its environmental safety, it truly is scent free and does get the dishes clean. However, we don't use the heat dry cycle and I've found that with this product, any where a puddle of water collects (in a bowl, on top of a glass etc) a white residue is left. I used a few other products to see if it was the dishwasher or the soap and none of the others left the film. The film rinses right off with water, and doesn't harm anything but is not a fun surprise when you have guests and want to hand them a clean dish!
