5excellent coffee  Mar 16, 2010
By Robert J. Bennett "Bob"
I drink coffee everyday, and subscribe to the theory that life is too short to drink bad coffee. I've taken gambles on coffee in the past and have thrown it away. This coffee brews up a good, dark, rich cup which I drink black. It has a subtle smokey background, but is not bitter. As with all coffee, it should be brewed (or pressed) with the proper grind and in the right porportion, but when done right, it's good coffee. I also like the fact that it's organically grown and traded fairly. If you enjoy dark roasts, you will not be disappointed.

5Great coffee  Apr 28, 2010
By cj
I have tried many different coffee's over the past severeal years and I am a hard customer to please. I ran across this coffee at my son's house and loved it. I love a bold coffee and this one tasted better than any of the coffee's I have had to date so I decided to join the coffee club as we go through quite a bit of coffee. I am a creature of habit and if I find one I really like I tend not to change. The beans are dark in color and have an oily (which I find are the best) look. I would highly recommend this coffee to anyone.

3The shipment I received had older beans  Oct 03, 2009
By Bao V. Nguyen "RongXanh"
Well the first time I used these beans in my french press, the coffee tasted great. However, as a started developing my taste for the coffee, I noticed that this particular variety has a strong smokey flavor to it. Some may not like that flavor.

Also, I found that the beans did not exhibit much "bloom" when I was brewing it in the press. I think that has very much to do with the age of the beans.

5my favorite coffee  Jun 16, 2009
By TERESA "Renaissance woman"
The coffee works very well with my french press coffee pot. I make it very strong, yet the coffee is neither sour nor bitter.

5Better than Grocery Store Coffee, and Cheaper than Co-op Coffee  Feb 09, 2009
By F. X. Hartigan
This is a delightful dark roast with lots of oils and smooth rich flavor. If you subscribe to this product, you can get it for about $7 a pound, which is substantially cheaper than the much inferior product at the grocery store. Unless I can get back to Portland and buy some Buckmaster's Coffee, this is my second favorite.
