Great Color and Texture Mar 30, 2008
By Cheryl
"chernjotr"
I love Ecco Bella lipsticks. I have been using for about a year now and have tried two colors (Mauve Rose and Tuscany Rose). The ingredients meet my strict standards for cosmetics with as little "nasty" chemicals as possible. The colors are vibrant and stay on as long or longer than my previous brand (L'Oreal Color Rich), and it is not drying to the lips. I would say that the color of this lipstick on my monitor looks more "orangey" than in real life. Amazon's price for this product is no cheaper than my local health food store, but if I am ordering other items, I save the tax!

The Best Vegan Lipstick (Color-Rosewood) Dec 15, 2009
By goonius I bought two vegan lipsticks simultaneously about 7 years ago, when I stopped using animal products in my cosmetics. The first, by 'Beauty without Cruelty' had an odd smell and taste that made it unwearable, and in addition to that was thick and kind of sticky almost.
This one on the other hand has a mild but pleasant make-up smell, does not taste strange, goes on very smoothly, like lipstick should and the color I chose - Rosewood - is one of my all-favorite lipstick colors; it's a warm, medium-dark, perfect for all occasions. The color is similar to the tube of lipstick pictured, but less orangey, more sort of deep mauve.
As a company, I really appreciate Ecco Bella. they manufacture their cosmetics in the US. Their ingredients are tested for heavy metals like lead, cadmium and mercury, and in this day and age that sort of seems like something everyone should be doing. The colors in their lipsticks are derived from iron oxides and carmine, an insect-derived colorant is contained in the following colors: Pink Rose, Mauve Rose, Claret Rose, Tuscany Rose and Napa Grape, in case anyone is bothered by that.
All in all I'm really pleased with this lipstick - and all the make-up I've bought from this company. I would definitely recommend to others searching for a quality vegan product.

The best lipstick ever Apr 27, 2011
By kimsposies I've used this brand for several years now and as long as Ecco Bella keeps making it, I will never use anything else. I live in the Northeast where we have long, harsh winters. No more chapped lips for me, this lipstick has taken care of that. And I love the 'Rosewood' color. It takes me through all occasions and lasts very well.

Ew. Feb 01, 2011
By Sharon Miller I bought the Pink Rose lipstick after reading plenty of good reviews. When I used it, it was a pretty pink color, but it tasted HORRIBLE. I can't explain it, I don't usually wear lipstick, but it has maybe the taste of petroleum or chemicals? I don't know, but it has a strong, filthy taste. I have a Revlon Colorstay #360 lipstick that is almost the same color with no taste that is much better than this.
Ew.

Disappointed May 02, 2010
By lfcfl After reading the reviews, I decided to order from another seller and boy was I ever disappointed. I ordered Peach Frost which has no frost, is matte, dry and feels heavy on my lips. I was looking for a light colored almost nude color with a little umpf; this is not it. I even wrote to the company and never heard from them. Particularly in this economy it's difficult to throw away money. I won't buy their products again.
