Ecover Dishwashing Liquid Review Apr 12, 2007
By Daniel Luong Overall, I have been very satisfied with this dishwashing liquid. It cleans well, is very gentle, and smells great. It has a pleasant lemon scent that does not overwhelm you. According to Ecover, the product is made out of natural substances versus chemicals so you might be doing the environment a favor.
However, the reason I give it 4/5 stars is that more dishwashing liquid is required per use. Because it rinses so well, the liquid comes off the sponge and more needs to be applied. At the price Amazon is selling it, this is not a problem. It makes for a great hand soap as well unlike conventional dishwashing soaps.

CLEANS MY DISHES & HANDS! Nov 08, 2007
By AuburnTygr Another great product by Ecover. Effective sudsing & cleaning, safe for the environment & smells great too....so much so that my children are enjoying washing their hands because of the smell as well as being gentle on the skin. I decided to buy this & try it because I like citrus scented cleaners. The smell is not strong but light & fragrant. I do seem to put a little more in the sink to get the suds I'm used to but it effectively cleans all my dishes & the grease from by microwave bacon cooker without any problems. The benefits of using this soap far out weigh the cost of using a litte more. AND, although not recommended by dishwasher manufacturs, I add about 1 ml (couple of drops) to the beginning of the dishwasher cycle along with the Ecover Tab placed in the main cycle cup. My dishwasher has two cups and the Ecover Tab is recommended in the main cycle only. I feel better having the extra cleaning power & it doesn't create enough suds to overflow my dishwasher.
ANY SOAP that can get my kids to wash their hands without me having to remind them deserves 5 STARS!

Consumer Reports had this as one of the top rated dish soaps, I agree. My hands and lungs thank me for how gentle this is.

OK, but gets used up too fast!! Feb 08, 2009
By Amanda J I tried this after being disappointed by 7th generation dish soap and the ecover is a step up in my opinion. however, it doesn't suds very much and doesn't seem to clean that well with just a little. Forget about it when my husband is doing dishes -- he goes through a ton of this. It's hard to find locally and the s/h is expensive if I buy online. I ended up trying Trader Joe's and liking that. Palmolive and Clorox also now have "eco" dish soap that is free of petroleum based products and the Clorox one is okay. Haven't tried Palmolive. they are available at grocery stores and big chain stores.
We use ecover laundry soap, fabric softener, dishwasher powder tablets, as well as floor soap, 7th generation all purpose cleanser spray, method hand soap, so it's not that I am anti-ecover or not used to environmentally friendly products.

LOVE, LOVE this product! Jun 07, 2008

I like the simple smell and non-greasy, mean-cleaning formula. For some reason, I'm also attracted to the packaging. Not sure why. I have added it as a permanent fixture with the rest of my organic/all natural cleaning arsenal.
