I am surprised at the other review saying how awful this soap is. I have been using all natural products for a long time. I also did a lot of research on which laundry detergent to use. This powder is awesome. It got my whites whiter than any other all natural detergent I have ever used. I would definitely try it. The powder works better than the liquid.

This is pretty crucial information, especially since many prospective buyers of this detergent would also own high efficiency washers. It says right on the box (but not on the side that's in the product photo), that this powder is NOT for use with HE machines.

Great for skin sensitivity! Apr 26, 2008

My husband has problems with many soaps. His skin breaks out in uncomfortable rashes when he uses anything with a scent or extra ingredients. Ecover Laundry Powder is the ONLY detergent I've found that not only cleans the clothes well, but does not affect his skin adversely. (The liquid form of the same brand gave him rashes.) To the person who complained about soap residue on their laundry, I've found that I don't need to use as much soap as is recommended and I rarely have any problems with powder left on our clothes, no matter what temperature water I use. I love the fact that their is NO SCENT associated with this product! If you're looking for an earth-friendly laundry soap, try Ecover. It's terrific!

This is the best natural detergent I have found. It cleans messy kids clothes as well as the regular brands like tide. I have a front loading machine and have never had a problem with residue. Their dish tabs work better than any of the other natural brands I have found as well.

I have eczema and sensitive skin. This is completely non irritating to me. It does have a light scent in the box, but leaves NONE on the clothes, which I like. It gets everything clean, even in cool water. We have very dirty "farm chore" laundry and it still comes clean and removes all barn-y smells. I have no problem with it dissolving completely either. I think it helps to start filling the water and add the soap first then add the clothes. I appreciate that it's more environmentally friendly. We have two very young children and have been using this product for over 3 years. I like not having to buy "special" laundry soap for the baby clothes, we all just use this.
