Seems like a great deal but very poor quality Sep 09, 2008

After using the product for less than a year, one of the bands snapped and caused a small injury as the rubber hit my skin. The rubber looks like it is weakening around some areas...mainly near the handles. I wouldn't recommend this product for long term use as the other bands look like they're about to snap too. I think its a waste of money.

BEWARE, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT Apr 13, 2010
By L. Burdge the Gaiam tricord resistant cord bands are very badly made.
the cord comes out of the handle easily and can snap you hard with it
as you are using it, and brakes easily.
I do not recommend this at all.
The dvd the comes with it is not that good.
Do yourself a favor and buy the ones Walmart sells they are better made
and cheaper.

THIS IS A FABULOUS RESISTANCE WORKOUT Aug 08, 2010

I love this video - it is an excellent resistance workout! Not only is the DVD easy to follow, it gives you a good workout and is just 30 minutes in duration which means that you can fit it in easily if you have a busy lifestyle.
You can do the video using either the resistance bands provided, or with free weights (if you have them at home). Either way you get an excellent workout that helps you firm and tone your muscles fast. Just remember - if you decide to use resistance bands instead of free weights with this video, you must give the resistance bands a good stretch before your first use. Otherwise your resistance bands will be too tight and will make the video seem unbelievably difficult, unless you have quite solid and toned arms.
But overall - I love this video, I use it atleast 4 times a week and would highly recommend it.

Dangerous product, poor workmanship Mar 20, 2011
By seascoastkid After fewer than 15 uses, the grommet sewn into the handle of the heavy resistance cord tore and caused the cord to snap back with considerable force. I looked over the rest of the cords and saw that the second handle on the heavy resistance band was also frayed around the grommet, indicating it would give way shortly. The medium resistance cord has the same problem as I can see the issue beginning in both handles. If you are using the product and pulling it near your face, I would recommend retooling your workout because if it breaks you can receive serious eye or facial injury. I was lucky as it only bruised my foot, but examine the grommets near the handles and discontinue use if any fraying is occuring. Poor product.

Poor packaging led me to make poor choices Apr 06, 2010
By xinejaquette I bought this product when the packaging to the DVD and to the tag marking the kit as medium resistance had only pictures of women using the product and what I thought was a female instructor on the DVD itself. It did not name the instructor anywhere I could see since it came bundled in a kit. I usually get overly body conscious exercising so I don't really like male presence near me when I am exercising (I use Curves).
So, the instructor is very fit and healthy male who can't be bothered to talk while instructing and he has a blond bit of female pilates perfection (complete with a D cup) next to him. They all seem to be working out to a prerecorded audio tape and he keeps reminding you to breath which is a good thing because these plastic barbies don't need to and if you follow what they are doing rather than what the audio says you will forget to breathe.
Actually they warn you an a bit of paper two important things (1) DO NOT HOLD YOUR BREATH WHILE EXERCISING (2) WATCH AND FOLLOW THE VIDEO BEFORE USING THE CORDS. This is because the instructors don't seem to breathe and the routine goes VERY fast and you should really have it memorized before introducing cords!
Ted is the guy you are supposed to follow if you are a newbie and I have to give him credit since the workout was geared to the medium or difficult exercise routine (regardless of which cord kit you purchase) so you would be half way through a rep sequence before they told you what you should be doing as a newbie. The camera pans and scans so you don't always have Ted in shot! I bought a DVD copy so why they didn't record three workouts, on for each level, has completely stumped me since they only have a half hour of media on a disc that can hold much more.
Unfriendly and unwelcoming and it goes WAY TO FAST. I would like to do the same routine in 45 minutes so I get some time to switch positions and be ready. These people have DRILLED this routine into 30 minutes and that is great but it is really hard to start on!
I will keep using the product because I purchased it but I didn't buy it to stare at an over fit male and female specimen that make me feel even more like crap. I bought it because it was billed as low impact and accessible to beginners. I am not sure it is even that.
