I think that the previous reviewer was talking about a different tea. This tea does not have anise.

This is my all-time favorite tea. I have tried many, many teas and this is the only one that I really enjoy. I love Numi Moonlight Spice. It is the perfect blend of flavors and it very warming with cinnamon and ginger and has a nice balance mixed with orange, lemongrass and lime. Also there are NO so called "natural flavors" used, only the real herbs and spices.

Most tea can be brewed stronger or weaker, as desired. But if you let the tea steep, or put too much in, the spices completely overwhelm the tea and it becomes undrinkable. You are better off buying this in the tea bags, where the measure is made for you. And be sure to take the bag out after no more than three minutes; even the bags create an unpleasant brew if you leave them in too long.

(I bought both of these direct from Numi).

This tea was gross. Too much cardamom & anise flavor. I usually enjoy teas like this, but this one was not for me.
