Tom's of Maine was a "green" company long before being "green" was the in thing to do. I have purchased 4 or 5 of their products and have to say that we (my family and I) love every one of them.
I squeeze a little bit of this shave cream into a mug, wet my badger hair shaving brush with piping hot water and stir the cream with the wet brush and it provides a great lather. I also think it must have some lubricant in it because I've never drawn blood since I started using this product, which has been for about 6 months now.
Check out Tom's of Maine's products. You won't be dissapointed.

I wouldn't say this is my favorite yet. It takes some getting used to, but it works. Yes, it's like toothpaste, just as someone mentioned in giving the stuff only one star a few months ago, but if you put it in a wet mug/small bowl and drop about a half-teaspoon of hot water over it, then it softens right up and is easy to work with. Usually, I work it with a brush, but this morning I rubbed it in with my hands. That actually seemed to do better. I also like the scent. The only problem is that it's tough to find in a regular grocery/drug store. The tube I bought was at a Wegman's about sixty miles or so from where I live.

This is a great product which produces an excellent lather when used with a badger hair brush. The lather is very slick and provides excellent protection when shaving. It smells minty, a bit like toothpaste, which could turn some people off, but i think it smells refreshing.
My only complaint is that it is somewhat hard to squeeze out of the tube.

Having a more strict budget lately, we purchased this instead of the pricier kiehls, which my husband loves. While it is comparable, it doesnt have the same creamy lather as the kiehls. It does have a nice scent, and the mint gives the skin a refreshing sensation. The toothpaste-like tubes make it easier for travel, and you really are getting more for your money. He is satisfied overall, and we would buy again (when we run out, probably next year!)

Tom's is a great shave cream. I have sensitive skin, but I haven't had any irritation problems when using it. It smells good too.
