BEST HEALTHY, CRUELTY FREE CHOICE Aug 10, 2008

I've been using Tom's deodorant for over 20 years. I used to use the Honeysuckle until they changed their formula and added lichen. I found out the hard way that a large %age of the population is allergic to this stuff; I got a nasty rash. I don't know why they added it but they did. So I switched to the Calendula, a gentle formula, and it works great. It has a very pleasant smell, some people ask me what perfume I'm wearing. No rash or harsh side effects, it doesn't discolor my clothing, and it does the job---at the end of the day I'm still pleased with the product, still pleased after 10 years {or so}. I just hope and pray they keep lichen out of it.............

Excellent but.... Mar 28, 2010

As far as odor control goes this deodorant is great. On extra sweaty days I'd apply it twice a day or so and I was good to go. However, after using it for some time, I noticed my armpits began to peel, were red, and sometimes would burn when I applied this deodorant, particularly if they were freshly shaved. I have to mention that I do not have sensitive skin in general, so I was baffled. Initially, I stopped shaving my armpits to see if that was the cause, but they would still peel, and burn. I decided to switch "flavors" but it seemed like it was the worst with lavender, and woodspice (which is a shame cause those are the best!). Sadly, I had to give up using Tom's. People who had similar reactions blame it on the zinc ricinoleate, but I really have no clue.

Best Natural Solution Feb 11, 2009

I live in Florida and use this product. For me personally it does well, suppressing odors 10-15 hours depending on the day. Although I realize everybody's body chemistry is different. However, I find this product to be effective for myself.
Some people have unrealistic expectations I think. Natural products can offer sufficient effectiveness but can't always live up to their less natural counterparts. Yes, after a full day of running around, you may need to reapply before heading out for dinner in the evening! I don't feel this is unreasonable....
I rather choose the natural product.

Hard-to-find fragrance Apr 09, 2012
By DTimberLD For some reason, many of the stores that carry Tom's deodorant do not carry the Calendula fragrance. This has been my husband's go-to deodorant for well over 10 years. There was a funny Facebook thread recently about how Tom's deodorant does not work, but sincerely, it does the job - except after very vigorous exercise. And we like to avoid 'antiperspirant' since it's a bit controversial what the aluminum in it may be doing to the body as it gets absorbed. We've been Tom's users for almost 20 years. Personally, i prefer the roll on/ liquid toms in the citrus fragrance for myself, but this is good too. And super convenient on Prime to just order and have it delivered a couple of days later so you don't have to hunt around at every local store for it.
Didn't protect my odor Apr 20, 2012
By Stinertron I really wanted this to work - I love the brand, love the scent, but I could smell my armpits before the day was half over : (
